About This workshop
This immersive workshop will guide participants through the entire workflow of utilizing drone technology for critical conservation and mapping projects in South Carolina's unique Lowcountry ecosystems. Attendees will gain practical experience in flight planning, safe drone operation, and capturing high-resolution aerial imagery and video suitable for environmental impact assessments. The curriculum covers advanced data processing techniques using specialized GIS software, including creating orthomosaics, 3D models, and vegetation health indices. Participants will learn how to interpret this data to identify erosion patterns, monitor wildlife habitats, and inform land management strategies, equipping them with valuable skills for future conservation efforts and professional applications.
