About This workshop
This immersive workshop offers a hands-on experience in applying artificial intelligence to solve real-world conservation challenges in Wyoming. Participants will learn to collect and preprocess environmental data, train machine learning models for object detection (e.g., wildlife species, invasive plants), and deploy these models on rugged, low-power edge computing devices suitable for remote outdoor environments. We will cover practical aspects of sensor integration, data security, and ethical AI use in ecological contexts, emphasizing open-source tools. Ideal for researchers, conservationists, and tech enthusiasts eager to leverage AI for a sustainable future, participants will leave with functional prototypes and a deeper understanding of conservation technology.
