About This workshop
This intensive one-day workshop delves into the practical application of Edge AI in sustainable urban farming. Participants will gain hands-on experience integrating various environmental sensors—such as soil moisture, pH, and light intensity—with compact, low-power computing devices like Raspberry Pi. The curriculum focuses on developing and deploying lightweight AI models directly on these edge devices, enabling real-time data analysis and intelligent decision-making without constant cloud connectivity. You will learn to build a prototype smart garden monitoring system, from hardware setup and sensor calibration to data visualization and predictive analytics for optimal plant growth and resource management. This workshop is designed to equip attendees with the skills to innovate local food systems, reduce water consumption, and contribute to a greener Texas through cutting-edge technology.
