About This workshop
This intensive one-day workshop delves into the application of machine learning techniques for processing and interpreting remote sensing data, with a specific focus on Alaskan environments. Participants will gain practical skills in using Python libraries like scikit-learn and TensorFlow/Keras to analyze satellite imagery, drone data, and other geospatial information crucial for environmental monitoring, resource management, and climate change research. The workshop covers topics such as image classification, object detection (e.g., wildlife tracking), and change detection, providing attendees with the tools to tackle real-world challenges in data-rich but often data-sparse remote regions. Prior programming experience in Python is recommended to maximize learning outcomes.
