About This workshop
This intensive workshop, Appalachian AI, is designed for developers, data enthusiasts, and community innovators eager to leverage artificial intelligence for regional impact. Participants will gain practical skills in data collection, model training, and deployment of AI solutions specifically addressing challenges unique to West Virginia and similar rural landscapes. We'll explore applications in sustainable agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, and natural resource management, providing attendees with the tools and knowledge to create meaningful tech solutions. Through guided exercises and expert instruction, you'll learn to implement machine learning algorithms using Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, culminating in a working prototype by the end of the day.
